VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - This year we are supporting Calvary UMC with their Vacation Bible School August 5th - 9th. If you have a child that would like to attend please reach out to Betty  at calvarylife@necoxmail.com or call Calvary at 401-847-6181. We are also going to help by providing some of the snack items that are needed for a successful VBS. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. Please leave donated items in the church office.

Food Drive

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our June Food Drive for the St. John's Foodbank. Your contributions have played a critical role in feeding over 140 families from the Portsmouth area. Your generosity and kindness are immensely appreciated. Together, we have made a significant impact on our community, ensuring that families in need receive the support they deserve. We are truly the mustard seed in God's Kingdom, growing and spreading love and care. Your support exemplifies the spirit of compassion and community, and we are deeply grateful for each and every one of you.

August School Supply Drive

The Mission Committee will be hosting a school supply drive for the Portsmouth schools during the month of August. A bin will be in the sanctuary to drop off NEW school supplies. There is a list of required school supplies posted on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. A sampling of the items needed are Hard-shell pencil boxes, gallon & sandwich ziploc bags, Crayola colored pencils, Crayola Twistable crayons, 4x4 sticky notes, soft pencil pouch, plastic folders, scissors, two-subject notebooks, composition wide-ruled notebooks, glue sticks, sharpened pencils,1-subject notebooks, thin markers, thick markers, etc. We will divide the supplies based on the needs of each school and deliver before school starts. Please let Christine Farley know if you have any questions.

Sound System - The sound system has been updated and we hope that you can tell the difference. A HUGE THANK YOU to Stephen Blythe from CS&M Technologies for sourcing the new equipment and for rewiring and installing the equipment pro bono. A special thank you to the Hutchinsons and Jean Relyea for your generous donations so that we could complete this much needed project.

Septic System - The septic system is slated to be replaced in early August. Everyone who donated towards this necessary project - we THANK YOU! If you haven't donated and feel the call to donate please send a check to the church. We are still approximately $25000 short of our goal. The new tank will be installed outside the kitchen in the garden area. If you would like any of those plants feel free to dig them out and take them home as they have to be removed to accommodate the new system.
